Il était une fois….
(Once upon a time…)
It all began with a simple idea... How can I encourage my then 3-year-old son not only to understand but also to actively converse with me in French? From the moment he was born, I have spoken exclusively to him in French, and by June 2024, he had already made his third trip to France. While he understands 99% of what I say, when I encourage him to respond, his typical reply is, "C’est pas facile, Maman (it’s not easy Mum)!” At least this is one thing he says in French :-)
After forging new French connections in Geelong over the past 12 years, particularly with Florie, the founder of Little French Wave in Torquay, I realised that no similar immersion program was available in Geelong for native and non-native French preschoolers.
This prompted me to launch Les Petites Frogs for my son and all our other young learners in the Geelong area.

Albane Mahaut
Owner, facilitator
Bonjour, I'm Albane, born in Nantes and grew up near Versailles before pursuing my studies in Paris and the UK. After spending 10 years in London, I have been in Australia for the past 15 years. Since 2012, I have called Geelong my home, where I reside with my partner, our 3-year-old son, and my two older stepchildren. We have a busy household but I love our blended family :-)
I've always taken pride in my heritage and am deeply passionate about promoting the French language. I actively engage in events organised by the Alliance Française de Geelong, such as Le Festival Francais in October and Pako Festa in February.
Since becoming a mother to Felix, my enthusiasm for teaching young children our beautiful language has only grown. I believe in providing them with a solid foundation in French while it is easier for them to grasp a foreign language.

Solene Assie
French tutor
Bonjour! I'm Solène, originally from a small town near Toulouse. My educational journey began in Canada, where I spent over three years tutoring students in French immersion programs. Since February 2023, I've been sharing my passion for teaching in Australia.
I find working with young minds incredibly rewarding. Their innate curiosity makes them exceptional learners, capable of absorbing knowledge so easily. It's a privilege to guide them on their French language journey, and I am committed to providing engaging activities, games, and songs to make learning enjoyable.
Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Technologies, I'm exploring innovative teaching methods. Alongside my studies, I'm actively involved as a French Tutor at French it Up, a language assistant, and a French Instructor at the Victorian School of Languages.
I'm excited to embark on the language-learning adventure with Les Petites Frogs, enriching the linguistic skills of young minds in Geelong.

Axelle Ransan
French Tutor
Bienvenue! I'm Axelle, a young French woman who has traveled the world and decided to settle here in Victoria to share my love and passion for teaching.
French is a beautiful yet complex language, and my goal is to learn from each of our children as I introduce them to the cultural richness and depth of France.
Being patient and supportive towards my students is my main priority, I'll make sure to always be attentive to any of their questions, concerns, or curiosity.
I have experience in teaching French to children through French immersion programs (and while babysitting younger kids).
Come aboard and let me guide you through learning a new language in the most enjoyable way imaginable!
